shedding frequency

vvvddd Apr 20, 2004 07:52 PM

Hey all,

I was curious if anyone else has noticed extremely high shed frequency in young BRBs. My '03 Jeff Clark male is doing very well and I have been feeding him relatively large meals (1 adult mouse) every 2 weeks or so. Looking back at his records, he is shedding between every 2-3 feeds on average but shed this week after eating only once since the previous shed! I don't remember seeing sheds this frequently in my females but they too just seem to eat and grow without gaining much girth. They are both '02s and one took a f/t adult rat for the first time 2 weeks ago. Looked a little big for her but she digested just fine! I probably won't need to feed her for a month or so!

i have noticed this on my female brb. she sheds after 2-3 meals. i didnt know ( still dont ) if its notmal, but my girl is growing non-stop.

i dont really worry about it anymore b/c she doesnt have any signs if illness or doesnt look like she loosing weight.

so i guess i would say as long as she looks and still acts the way she always did there isnt anything wong.

Van,
. Growing little BRBs can shed very often. I have had them shed as soon as 14 days after the last shed. Most of my young BRBs shed every 20 to 35 days. I used to feed little BRBs more heavily and had them shedding more often. I have heard of people power feeding little Reticulated Pythons and having them shed as soon as 8 days after the previous shed.
