How deep is your tank? Are you talking about seleginella moss (which is really a fern), java moss (which is semi aquatic) or common creeping moss? Both the seleginella and true moss need good florescent lighting, no further than a foot away. Closer is even better, as both mosses will grow rapidly into a lush lime green carpet. Java moss can take lower light, but you probably won't use this for a terrestrial P. caerulea. You can get true moss out of your backyard. I have it on wet branches and on the ground in my dart frog cage. It grows very well, but if too wet and humid and not enough light, it will mold. Be warned to find baby slugs and snails a few days later that arose from the moss. Your frogs may eat them.
