Oak leaf litter OK?

Sohni Apr 20, 2004 09:57 PM

Specifically, coast live oak leaves? I've got lots of oak leaves, but not much of other kinds, so if I can use the oak, great.

Hopefully one of the folks on the West Coast will respond and offer more insight.
In the meantime, I can offer this; I think that trees with foliage, bark etc., that have a high content of aromatic oils would be the ones to avoid.
That would include eucalyptus, cedar, and some other conifers that might be native or commonplace out your way.
Live oaks are native to this country, from eastern VA south into FL and west in to OK and TX, which covers alot of box turtle territory as well.
Good Luck!
