The Light Cycle and Breeding

beardiekid14 Apr 20, 2004 10:11 PM

Hi, you have all heard about my problems with my leos mating. I lowered the temperature for a month and then warmed it back up, but they are in a boaphile plastic rack and i was wondering how those of you with racks showed your leos through the light cycle that it was time to breed. I opened the rack the other night and the male had his hemipen out, is that a sign that he had been or was about to mate? Thanks for your help!

Adam, usually if the male has his hemipenis out, he has just finished breeding. Unless your room is real dark and your enclosures are opaque, the natural sunlight from a window should be enough to tell them winter is over.
