I'm confused; if you don't breed a female when she is first receptive, will she lay infertile eggs before she is receptive again?

Example: a female is receptive at 6 months of age, you don't breed her. What happens?

She is receptive 3 months later, you breed her. Does she become gravid with new eggs? Or do the same eggs that could have been fertilized the 1st time around become fertilized the 2nd time around?

Do you guys get what I mean?

Thanks,

Matt
