EGGS-- GLORIOUS EGGS! Pic attached...

Sweet_Pickle Apr 21, 2004 05:36 AM

At 6:15 AM we had 4 eggs from my Maryland Eastern King. I counted 11 in her last night so I guess we will have to see how close I was...

I wish I could stay home today...

Ah, ha! I think the waiting makes the event even more exciting. Good news! Hope you post the final count. Let's see if you counted correctly.

My neighbor just checked.

12 fertile (total) and one slug.

He moved the "new" clutch into my egg incubating container.

She is still curled up and may not be done.

she had 4 at 6:15 AM and has laid 9 in the past 4 hours and 15 minutes = 28 minutes between eggs.

Maybe there are some more????

YEEEEEEE---- HAAAAAAA!!!!

1st of all - she is about 3 1/2' (I think, never measured her).

Second: I talked to Brad today. These snakes are captive bred from some guy named Delatorie or Delatory (don't know which). Perhaps you know who he meant.
Further, they are "Southern MD locale". I am a Marylander. This would make the parents of these snakes local to either Calvert, Charles, or St. Mary's County - and possibly southern Prince George's County. The rest of "southern Maryland" is considered the "Eastern Shore".

Third - she just ate 4 rat pups. She would probably eat more but I don't want her to over do it... AH, to double clutch or not to double clutch?... that is the question.

Dan Dellatore I believe his name was. Brad told me that he asked him for the locality or something and he was real curt with him so he didnt get the info. Yeah likely they are from one of those counties as thats were they are most common I understand. As far as double clutching some do some dont for different reasons. I might with my female if she looks decent after laying. Again congrats on the eggs.
