I'm a proud new Mummy of a beautiful Sawu python!
He's about 3 feet long or so, and a skinny little guy that I can't wait to feed and fatten up. He just shed last night.
I've got a 3x1 foot aquarium, with aspen substrate, hides on the warm and cool end, and a big water dish. There's a heat pad that keeps one end in the upper 80's and the other end around 75F. And I'm getting some sticks for him to climb on.
Now, I've done as much research as possible, even trying to find the climate, weather, etc of Sawu Island, and I can't find very much specifically on the care of these guys!
Is my heat ok? Do they need humidity or dryness? Am I better to use a basking lamp for heat (ie do they bask in the wild) or are they nocturnal and the heat pad is better? When I find a female, can I house them together? How does my setup sound so far?
Sorry for the long post, but thanks for any replies you can offer.
Have a great day!
