pick beardie tales???????????????????????????????

can beardies be picked up by the base of there tales?

You are best to use a scooping action under them from the front.

A fully grown beardie can be 500g plus, which is a lot of weight for a tail to hold. The base of the tail may be used to gently drag the beardie into an open area to scoop him up, but I would never lift a beardie off the ground by his tail.

I'll await the post of any breeders who may know better

It's not something I would recomend doing. Occasionaly I'll do it if I have a little s**t thats trying to bite me and he needs moved quick but it's not something that you would normally want to do. IMO

yah, i try not to do it but i have to most of the time cuz my beardie is a tiny ss aa(pig latin for yah now).
