Is my ball just a huge WOOS?

savvgawd Apr 21, 2004 10:25 AM

ok now im getting a little worried. Its been a week and a half since my ball has eaten. He is a yearling. On friday i bought a jumbo mouse, no luck. Prob struck 15 times and only tried to wrap twice. Then just gave up. So i bought a regular adult mouse last night and put 2 in at the same time. This time he didnt do anything at. The little mouse would even come up stick his head right in the pythons face and my ball would just back off like he was scared. I dont understand it, am i doing somthing wrong? I try not to feed him in his home because there are too many places the mouse will hide and i dont want him to think whenever i reach in its food. The last time he ate was in his home so i tried that too yesterday, not one result, any help is needed thanks

Don't sweat it. My yearling ball just ate yesterday for the first time in 10 weeks. The last time he ate, he struck the mouse, constricted it and then left and stayed at the other end of the feeding tank. I read on here to use "stinky" gerbil bedding and put the feeder mouse in it. I got some of the bedding from a local pet store and kept the mouse in it for about half an hour. When I put it in the tank, I didn't have to dangle it for any time before it was gobbled up. Just be careful leaving live animals in with the snake. If it doesn't eat them, they could harm your snake. Good luck.
