Does anyone know where to buy normal Eastern Garter Snake from. Also is there any item of food to attrack Garter Snakes? I live near a creek but can never find any I check everywhere. I know that they are there though.Thanks

Where do you live?

I know there are most cities have monthly herp meets where you can buy snakes but I have not been to any yet. We are hoping to go to the next one held in Columbus, Ohio. We are wanting to buy a western garter that is captive born.

I will let you know what I find. It was held last weekend and we didnt make it so we will hopefully get there next month.

I don't know of any food that will draw out garter snakes. The one we have loves night-crawlers but I am not sure how you could use that to draw them out. I think the best way to find them would be to put out some tin sheets that will provide them with a nice place to hide and then you can find them that way.

Don't any of the pet stores around Columbus have garters?

I would lay some tin out in the spots you know they are but can't see them also try putting some around ponds or places with lots of frogs
