Where to buy good temp/hydrometer?

Ralph Apr 21, 2004 05:27 PM

Hello,

I am looking to buy a dependable and reasonably priced temperature & hydrometer. I a saw digital one advertised on www.bigappleherp.com aka Big Apple Herpetological for 20 dollars. It looks good. Are they a dependable source of reptile goods? Do you reccomend another vendor for what I am looking for?

Hey,

I have done some reading up on the helix dbs-1000 system and it sounds very practical. I was wondering if you just purchased it from www.helixcontrols.com or if there is another vendor out there which carries this product. Do you feel it is a reliable and durable system?

Thank you,
Ralph

Hi
I get them at Target stores. They have a few different kinds from about 8 to 20 dollars. Most come with a long thin cord with a probe at the end. They are meant to keep by a window indoors and the probe goes outside and it gives you temp, humidity, high and low temps that have been recorded and temp and humidity inside the room also if you press a button. i just sit it on top of my EMT's cage and let the probe drop in through the wire mesh on top. Beats mail order. Good luck
