How common are pink and green snow corns?

kingofrain21 Apr 21, 2004 05:29 PM

I have a male amel and a female ghost, both het for each other's traits (excluding the hypo to my knowledge) - and last year i hatched 20/20 eggs, producing a few snows as well. One year later I am noticing that one of the snows(which started out SUPER pink looking) definitely without a doubt is developing pink and green borders on the saddles.... i'll try and get a picture soon- what's the story on these pink and green little buggers? --here's the parents

I get both super white (blizzard) snows and ones that I have seen called bubble gum snows that have lots of pink in them. I could be wrong but I think it had to do with the type of Anery they were when the snow was started. I believe alot of them are now carring both type 1 and type 2 anery genes.

Ive been seeing more and more yellow/green in my snow lately. I had her outside for the first time on the weekend and the colours really showed up. I guess it doesnt really matter why or if its normal, I love and enjoy her no matter what but it would be nice to know why shes going green.

Well if these snows have the possibility of being homozygous hypo as well, that would be why they are more pink. Snows that are also hypo are distinctively more pink than snows that aren't hypo.

I don't know why some snows have green borders while others don't though.
