but those other responses were absolutely correct. Beardies thrive best by themselves. I think a lot of websites tell you they are good in pairs because they want to sell you more lizards. Sad but it's true. And no, beardie's aren't like snakes, they don't require any brumation to have the desire to mate. They will mate and mate and mate.

The only way to be safe is if they are all females that happen to get along fabulously. Sometimes females don't get along though, and then you'll be dealing with lost toes or tails.

If you end up with two males and a female, the two males will fight over her, probably hurting each other. And they will both want to mate with her, and she will have a lot of stress. Then come the babies......

If you have two females and a male, I've heard some people have kept them this way and it worked out, but personally I don't think this is a good idea. The females still may not get along. The male will be very happy, but then you will have TWO pregnant females and twice as many babies! From the sound of it you want pets, not breeding facilities. Not to mention, as someone said before, since you bought them all from the same place at the same time I can almost guarantee they are siblings, so allowing them to mate at all is out of the question.

If you end up with three males, you're just gonna have a lot of trouble on your hands. They are pretty territorial. I have two males in seperate enclosures, and still when one comes out and can see the other they get all fussy and stressed.

Finally, caging beardies together happily requires a LOT of space. How big is your vivarium? Is it big enough to hold three adult lizards who get almost two feet long each, even if they are all females?

Sorry this is bad news for you.

Even if you give one back and only have 2, you will still run into the same risks as before.

female female = It's possible, but if they end up fighting you will need to seperate them.
male male = Fighting.
male female = Mating. Stress on the female from too much mating. If they are siblings this is out of the question.

You really only have three options with the first two the best choices to make:

1) Build or buy another cage or two, set them up in a rack style to save space (ie two or three cages one above the other with space between for lights/ventilation). This takes more vertical space but less horizontal.

2) Sell two bearded dragons. You can do this by advertising in local newspaper, purchase a basic classified account here at kingsnake or advertise on other websites. (advertising in any forums other than the classifieds is not allowed on kingsnake, see the TOS for more details)

3) Keep all your dragons in one cage and risk deaths, injuries, and/or unwanted pregnances and probably the animosity of most of the recular posters here. This third option will most deffinitely wind up costing more money in vet bills or losing all your dragons due to injuries and stress related complications (ie parasites).
