Here is my female.
She is roughly 4 years old, I got her when she was 2. She is WC, imported as a baby, not raised by me. I don't know her measurements since I have never taken them. I just think of her as 'medium'.
I am 5'4"; and being abused in this pic. My friend came over late, and I woke the little princess up for this pic. She did not appreciate it...I feel bad now....sorry for the quality, but she didn't want to straighten out or look at the camera. I don't blame her, LOL.
As for the iguana leashes, hmmmmm.
I've tried them all, when I had iguanas. A kitten harness worked best on my female iguana. Those figure 8 things were dangerous and I lost a real nice juvenile because they can squirm out of them. Be cautioned that a monitor is cleverer and more squirmy than an iggy, IMO, its inviting an accident.
I put my igs outside because of the UV factor. I would likely do it again, if I still had igs. (Just to err on the safe side..)
I believe monitors can function without the UV, and that they spend much of their life hiding from being exposed. I personally wouldn't bring a young or nervous monitor outside, I don't see any benefit to the animal, its possibly very stressful. (Bright light, strangers, traffic, no burrow nearby???)
I think an adjusted monitor in a familiar area might enjoy the walk, but that's just me.
It's your pet, your responsibility.
Good luck.
D.
