Some one asked me to post this picture so they could see if they have a female or male.
Females have very small well lined up pores, not raised and mostly intack, Males have VERY large pores, usually a few rubbed off and are also usually raised well above the surface area of the skin/scales.

Youre describing my Zephyr, but i have been under the impression that he is a he....the vet flipped him over and said yep, looks like a male
although he hasnt gone into season (either male or female) maybe hes undecided what to be

when they are very young, prior to pores developing, you can tell the sex by the look of the area just under the vent on the TAIL side.
A male will have two bumps or you will see a indent in the center, a female will have one smoother curve below the vent (on the tail side, they all have two bumps on the body side)
Just wanted to update everyone on Joey. He is doing well and growing like a weed.
I have some older pics of Joey showing his femoral pores in my yahoo photo album.
Also, does anyone have an iguana who doesn't have any chin spikes? Joey is 2.5 - 3 years old I believe, and has no spikes under his chin at all (see picture in my album). I have never seen a green iguana without them.
