My 2nd 40 gal setup

ReddQuake Apr 21, 2004 10:51 PM

This tank is below the first 40 gal and is now home to Flame, Karma, Bell and Bubbles. They seem to have settled in nicely and to my surprise its been Bubbles thats been out checking her new home. I had expected Flame to be the one but she went into the humid hide and has only come out once.

I actually like this set up more so than my first one. The two caves on each side i made. I took a large cave, split in half (sanded and washed it) then siliconed it to a 12" X 12" tile. Both pieces fit together with a large rock inbetween but i substited the humid hide there.

Let me know what you think

Oh and.......i had a fun time with the AFT's and Coco hand feeding them. I think this way is better than just leaving a bowl of worms although it would take me hours to hand feed each of my now 16 geckos hehe

Vey nice red!
im sure those 4 girls love it
is Flame the one that has been laying eggs?...how are the eggs doing anyways..?

again, great setup!

Thankyou Yes Flame is the one that laid. The first two eggs didn't make it. They completely molded over and collapsed. The second two look better. One is showing the veins and is still plump. The other one is showing the veins but has dented badly so i've moistened some papertowels in hopes it will pop back out.

I'm still in awe of Bubbles. She's so active. All this time in her own tank she hardly ever moved but now she's so much more active. I've taken pics of her, not many turned out very well but i think theres a few that i could post.

Thanks for the comments, i always love hearing from people

How are your geckos doing?

Glad to hear that at least one of the eggs is doing good,
i hope the other one turns out great also.

my leos are doing great, specially my babies, eating live pigs...gecko garbage disposals, lol
my adult females are beefing up, same for the males, all gettin ready for my second attempt at breeding, hopefully i'll get some babies out of the future eggs

good luck

lmfao eating LIKE pigs, LMAO

hehehe i understood what you meant Its amazing how much a gecko can eat. The AFT's are little eating machines...but given their size, they do have alot of growing to do so it makes sense. Most of my leos are huge now. I can't wait for the scale i want to come in. I'd really like to see how much Boo weighs as he's at least twice the size of every other gecko i have.

I'm glad to hear all is well with your geckos

Next breeding season should be a busy one for me and if i can find a hypo/superhypo carrottail male i'm sure Dot will produce some stunning babies.

Hopefully all will turn out great with the eggs i have now. This whole waiting thing sucks lol.....i'm not a very patient person at times....and this is driving me nuts. But it was nice to see all of the red veins and actually know the egg is fertile.
