Need your suggestions please

My Retic (8ft, 10pds) just came back from the vet after undergoing an endoscopy. The vet says she must be kept completely dry and on newspaper for obvious reasons.

I was wondering what your suggestions would be for keeping her humidity up during this time. I thought of putting a humidifer in her enclosure but I don't want to run the risk of her knocking it over and getting wet (or worse) or getting wet by moving across the top.

Also, I'm going to be moving from Chicago to Austin, Texas on June 2nd. We'll be driving straight through. How stressfull do you think that will be on her 5 weeks prior to surgery and what if anything do you recommend I do to minimize the stress? I've never transported my herps, so I'm fairly clueless. Is my assumption correct that shipping her is a bad idea? I don't know if there is any extremely fragile way of doing that. I basically want this to be as minimally stressfull as possible (regardless of cost).
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

RayRay

Ray, definitely do not ship the Retic! I drove to NY from Indiana with a 12 ft Burm and a baby albino, no problem. I had them in their separate enclosures in the back of the car and provided them with a towel in case they wanted some kind of security. They were absolutely fine. I would not run the risk of shipping your retic because you just never know what might happen. Good luck!

I dont know what the endoscopy was proformed for but it it a relitivity minor surgery. I would talk to your vet if he is very familiar with sankes, if not call your local zoo or some of the big time breeders. But i would ship overnight rather than take hte snake on that trip for all those hours.
