what colour will i get.

clemie Apr 22, 2004 04:00 AM

hello

My cremsicle recently laid her eggs from my caramel she was mated to. The thing is im not quite sure what colour the babies will be. Im thinking i might get a corn with high yellows like a butter corn.

Anyone got any ideas what i might get.
Thanks for your advice
Clem.

Thanks for that, this is my first year i've attempted breeding, and im still trying to get my head around hets and hypos.

Unfortunatly i don't know if my corns are het for anything so i guess i'll just have to wait till the eggs hatch to see what i get.

thanks for your advice.

If your creamsicle is a true creamsicle, the offspring would have some Great Plains Rat Snake blood in them, wouldn't they? I'm new at corns too, but my understanding of creamsicle corns (my corn is a creamsicle) is that they are amelanistic crosses between the Great Plains Rat Snake and the Corn Snake. (That doesn't necessarily mean that one parent was an amel GPRS and the other an amel Corn-- they could have both been creamsicles).
