Feeding in tank???

nicki Apr 22, 2004 09:29 AM

What are your opinions about feeding snakes in their own enclosures? I have 5 snakes now (including the new savu) and always take them out of their enclosures and feed in seperate small tanks. Is this necessary or not? I've always read that this is the best idea, but lately have been getting conflicting info.

Thanks for any ideas!

I feed all of my snakes (6) in their enclosures. I find this method convenient, less disturbing to the snake, and safer because you avoid handling a snake that is in "feeding mode." To help avoid accidental ingestion of substrate, I always place the food item on either a sheet of cardboard or plexi-glass.
