Albino Indian Star Tortoise...

Sohni Apr 22, 2004 12:09 PM

So does anyone now think that ad is legit? I noticed the ad said "yearling 1 1/4 inches"--isn't that very small for a star yearling? I'm no expert, but based on the other albino pic posted on this forum, it doesn't look albino to me (and the pic shown in the ad doesn't appear to be of a 1 1/4" tort, either, although pics can be deceiving).

So what do all of you think, or has anyone heard anything about it?

there's a sucker born every minute, and this could be an unscrupulous person out sucker-hunting to the tune of thousand of dollars.

could be legit, but you bet your sweet bippy that, had i the money and the inclination, i'd be all about buying it *in person.* about size... i'm not really certain, but isn't albinism a kind of birth defect? there are a lot of healthy albino animals out there, i'm sure, but maybe it's runty?

*graps for straws!* whee!

Albinism is a recessive gene. It doesn't have any effect on the turtles size, condition, life expectancy, etc.
