hencoherp Apr 22, 2004 12:46 PM

help! I have wood turtle which did fine several months, now seems to have trouble crawling--as if legs aren,t strong enough;reminiscent of an aquatic turtle on a slippery terrestrial surface. any ideas?

The yahoo clemmys group had a discussion about a condition they called "stiff leg syndrome" a few months back. One of the members, who keeps wood turtles, said that whenever he introduces a new animal to his group, it comes down with a similar condition and then gradually gets better. Really strange... Just visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Clemmys/, join if you have to, and click "Feb." (below the archive search bar).

Good luck!

Could be a number of things. Haven't seen the discussion mentioned by the other person commenting. I have seen this condition occur in turtles many times that have MBD.
