tough to shed over scars?

domingoakasunday Apr 22, 2004 01:45 PM

my two ball pythons both have scars from their previous owners. I feed them only f/t mice. anyway when they shed they normally have trouble shedding directly over the scar. does anyone else have this problem? normally with a 20 min soak in water the piece comes right off.

Well the place i work gets in all kinds of abused balls and boas throughout the year and this season we have been seeing alot of neglected scars and burns.. I have found that a little bit of neosporin about 2-3 times a day on the "trouble areas" including being safe for the eyes, has worked awesomely for those animals... The shed usually means not enough hydration.. i would also suggest that when they go into shed for that week i would bath them daily for 30min-1hour it really helps our snakes with shed conditions... Well Good luck i hope this helps

Sincerely,
Rose Hipskind
