Sulcata Red Ear?

onitora Apr 22, 2004 05:08 PM

I've got a nice outdoor habitat for my two Sulcatas, one about 6 inches long, the other about 10. Included in their range is a nice, oh, 15 gallon pond with a nice beach that they can climb easily into and out of.

What would be the concernes with putting a couple 4 inch red ear sliders in the pond?

Well basically mixing species with different requirements. Hopefully you pond is not too deep as the sulcata should just have an area to soak themselves. Also having sliders swimming in a pond that will be constantly muddied and pooped in by the sulcata. I suppose I can list a bunch of other reasons but in short I don't think it would be a good idea for the any of the animals concerned.

15 gallons is not nearly enough space for even one 4 inch RES.
