Is it ok to hook up a UTH to a dimmer? The tempature in my enclosure is way to hot. I only have a cheap reptile UTH that is stuck to the bottom of the enclosure. Could hooking it up cause a shortage or something? Thanks,

Good observation! LOL! Actually, I do solder all of my electrical stuff and heat tape wires myself, and have never had a "shocking experience"... or at least not yet!

ya i know how to do it but i cant see anymore but i know how to re wire a house or building......... make a new cord for a lamp, change my oil change my brakes rotate my tires.. russ taught me all this (lol i learned at 26, i knew none of it my father is not very techincal to say the least)
strang thing is he teaches me all this crap to do but yet wont let me cut any veggies with a knife... i dont get it
ill be cutting something and he's like "let me do that" and im like "no" so he leaves and goes outside or in the other room and then tells me later it scares him to watch me use a knife because he thinks ima cut myself LOL.. im like look the worst that can happen is me cut myself i yell scream and cry and you come in there and fix it or take me to the emergency room....... my mom told him before she passed away that he was going to have to get used to it because robin is hardheaded LOL and that if it scares to him to leave the room and not watch LMAO

but i can change ya oil, change the brake pads and shoes and i can rewide a building like no ones bidness but im not allowed to use a knife LOOLOLOL

I use a dimmer on mine. ZOOMED has a thing called Rheostat which is a dimmer, but a dimmer is a dimmer regardless what you use.

In the winter it's kept high; but in summmer very low settings.
