skin reaction to leo on arm

Angus_8 Apr 22, 2004 05:49 PM

Hey, havent been on here in a while but I have a little bit of a problem. When I took my leo out today, he climbed on my arm and scratched it a bit, no big deal. But I looked at my arm about 5 minutes later and it was covered in little red dots and the scratches were irritated. Has anyone else seen this before? If so what did it turn out to be? I looks like a alergic reaction or something to me.

Also, I noticed his node has a spot on the end where skin has been rubbed off. Unfortunately, he doesnt like coming out alot so I dont have the chance to check things like this every day. I'm gunna keep his cage spotless for a while til it goes away, but should I be doing anything else to help it heal. It really isnt as bad as it sounds but it is a problem. Other than that hes fine, just had a pink yesterday. Later
Mac

I have that sometimes.. I think it's just from the toes digging into the skin.

Put a dab of neosporin on his nose.
You might want to keep an eye on him one evening--he may be rubbing his face on the glass. What size cage is he in?

Hes in a 20 gallon, not long just a 20 gallon, but hes got plenty of space. Thats what I thought it would be, him rubbing against the glass, but whenever I watch him he doesnt seem to do anything of the sort, but i dont watch him 24/7 so i dunno. I'm gunna put colored tape on the sides of his cage, or get some backgrounds so he doesnt think he can walk throught the glass, maybe that will keep it from happening again. Thanks
