Its not crushed walnut. I do use that for my parrots, but not for the reptiles.
Hi, from the looks of the picture, what ever you do have them on, I'd question it's safety. They look like each grain has very sharp edges. Just a thought. Also, it's been some time since I've been on the forum, so excuse me if this is a point that has been driven into the ground, but your uro looks pretty thin. MAybe you just got him/her as that's the way mine usually look when they arrive. On the other side, I love the coloring. How does the turtle handle the heat?

I agree with Jimbo. The coloring is AWSOME but looks on the thinner side. I too question what substrate that is?
also curious as to if you always have the tort and uro together or just for the pic. I would think that their environments would be opposite? no?
