It depends on which way you cook/prepare them. I like to add the lobsters to soft serve vanilla icecream with multi colored sprinkles. They are also quite tasty when prepared in a dish with various types of shellfish and vegetables- a paella if you will. For the kids, it's also kind of fun to have a fondu party with chocolates and caramels.
Since Hissers are larger in both size and mass, I like to design my dishes with Gramphadorhina portentosa being the main ingredient. They are great when sauteed with beans, chicken, and other vegetables, and they also work pretty well in a casarole. I am always trying something new, the sky is the limit when cooking with roaches. I am also expanding out to other roach species like the discoids and orange spotteds; I think they'd be good in a souffle.
Well, these are my preferences; I'm sure everybody's pallet is different. You can't go wrong with the lobsters; there's just so much you can do with them.. Yum!!

Yeah, the problem with the lobsters is, you know, that they don't have the actual meat that the big hissers do...

What size do you need?
I breed a small cockroach called Shelfordella tartara.
About the size of a cricket. Breed faster than crickets, don't need much attention they don't smell bad, they don't die and can't climb glass or plastic. They need temps of about 30-32 C., so they don't breed in your house if you live in a cool area.
My ackies love them, cause they are very fast runners and taste good (better than lobsters).
