Is my female Pregnent?

kanozig Apr 22, 2004 08:26 PM

I have a female who is housed with a male, they are both about 8 months old, Ive never seen them mating, all the sudden for the first time she is dark, like gravid colors, the male is no where near her, she has been this color now for 3 days, also i noticed she is much more plump, but i cant tell if shes just eating alot, (she usually eats alot) Im kinda confused on what to do, and if anyone has some knowledge on this subject i would appreciete it much...

Thanks
Miles

First of all what species of cham are you talking about? Second if it is the species I am thinking you have which is veild you shouldnt be keeping them together in one cage at the age of 8 months. Third of all it sounds to me like she is showing gravid colors as she gets closer to depositing her eggs you will be able to gently feel the eggs and sometimes see them.

They are panther chameleons, I keep them in a 6' X 6' green house so the have PLENTY of room if they need space.... anyway, thanks for replying, Im planning on putting her in a seperate cage with lots of topsoil at the bottom....

Thanks
