I am looking into getting some Brookesia chameleons and wondered if there was any way to have a fecal test shipped to a laboratory for testing. The vets in my area (Los Angeles County Southern California) charge $35-45 for a office visit and who knows how much for fecal test and medication (and this is probably per chameleon). So if it is possible to just ship samples to a laboratory for testing, it would make it easier finacially. Not sure how to get medication dosage I need after the result would come in though other than the vet.

Now before flames or misunderstandings happen, the chameleons (which I haven't bought yet) health and well being are of utmost concern. I just want to see what other options are available to lower the financial strain of owning more than one little chameleon since it is likely to be a wc. I am taking my time thinking things through before making a purchase. So please, anyone able to make a suggestion? How do people with many reptiles take care of them (fecal test, medication, etc)?
