Ensatina eggs

I had an E.e.conceater lay her eggs just outside her hiding spot lastnight. I'm not sure why, maybe I disturbed her the evening before. Anyway, I moved her cover (~2 inches) over the eggs and placed her back inside. Is it a lost cause?
