Leaf Chameleons?

raiquee Apr 23, 2004 08:26 AM

Does anyone know basic care on these guys or a good website? I tried to search for one, and only found pictures..no info.

We have one at work that i want to take home, but i want to know what the requirements are.

Basic questions are:

How big do they get?
How often do you feed them?
They need the UVB bulb, like a reptisun correct?
If so, what one? (5.0, 2.0?)
How hot does it need to be in their basking area?
What substrate do you use?

And any other info you'd find would help me Thanks!

if im not mistake there are a few different species of leaf chams and they are all a little different. do you know which one it is exactly?

http://www.adcham.com/html/taxonomy/species-taxonomy.html is a pretty good site for some info and helps for more precise searches.

There is species info on http://www.adcham.com and http://www.geocities.com/ccicenter.

As for care, it will depend on what type it is. "leaf chameleon" is too broad a term. Those sites have pics to help identify it. As for care, you could email Kammerflage Kreations for some specifics. Check out their site at http://www.calumma.com

what -type- of leaf chameleon it is, i have no idea. I've looked on that website and couldn't find one like him.

He's solid green, with a smooth body. Small, about an inch long and he has a little stump for a tail, looking like the twig of a leaf. His body then is very "tall" taking on a board leaf look. Other than that, he doesn't look like any of those...but if i had to pick on he looks like the Brygoo's Chameleon.

I still plan on picking him up on Wed, so i will be sure to take some pictures and maybe you guys could help me then. I will go over the "basic" info and try to grab things from their until we know what exactly he is.

I think that is what he is. Almost positive.

Oh I also got this species and just able to breed them successful recently, perhaps you can check my previous post of my setup.

My setting were:

Auto mist system - 4 times a day
Humidities ~ 80%
Temperature 70 - 87 F
Timer control blower to enhance ventilation

Just my 2 cents
