Well, my father is now happy with his new male Jackson's chameleon. He's so cute...he was not so happy when we first put him in his enclosure...some parts of him turned black. We left him alone for abit...went back later, put a cricket on a leaf in front of him and he ate it right away. Had to go to a wedding, so when they got back, he was all curled up in the top of his ficus sleeping...I saw him all tucked in...so cute! He was green again, btw. LOL

Ok...a few questions...about hand feeding, what is the best way? Do you just hold the cricket between your fingers or would that work? It seems like they would shoot your fingers instead...and how would you know when to release the cricket? Doesn't make sense to me...so there must be a better way to hand feed???

Just guesstimating, how long will it take him before he doesn't turn BLACK every time he looks at us or sees us? LOL I hope he grows to see us as friends instead of foes.

How long before feeding can you dust the crickets? Do you have to only do it to the ones you are feeding right then? We got a "cricket keeper"...a cute little container like a critter keeper, but it has two black cylinders that the crickets hide in...so you slide them out and dump them in the cage. I guess we could get them in there, put the cricket dust in there and then shake them a bit before putting them in, right? Sounds like it would work...in theory at least.

Thanks from a newbie!!!
