Water Dragon Enclosure

twitchynose Apr 23, 2004 09:33 AM

Hello everyone, got a question...
I have had one water dragon in a 100-gallon Reptarium for about a year (he's about 2 feet long). Recently I aquired two similarly-sized dragons from someone who didn't want them anymore, and now I have to build a bigger home for them. I drew up some plans for a cage that is 4.5ft x 2.5ft x 6ft. Is that big enough to keep them happy?
On a totally unrelated note, one of the new dragons is quite obese. Is there any way to slim him down?
Thanks.

Are you planning on keeping all three together? If so, you probably want to go bigger, although a well planted cage that size may work fine if they are fairly laid back dragons. I wouldn't worry about the obese dragon, just feed him a normal diet and he should slim down, especially if he has two cage mates to play with. Just go easy on the mice for awhile.
