Is there another name for Hardware cloth?

IvansOwner Apr 23, 2004 12:21 PM

I just got back from Home Depot and they looked at me like I had 3 eyes when I asked for hardware cloth.

Seriously? That's strange, since I think "hardware cloth" is the most technical name for it.

It's also called wire mesh. Or you might try asking for "chicken wire" -- that's not what you'd want to use for an ig, but the right kind of hardware cloth should be in the same section.

Hope this helps,

...different people. They thought I was crazy. I even had them search in their computer. Finally, like you said, I asked them where the chicken wire was. I thought that "hardware cloth" must not be the actual name for it. I went back to where they told me, and sure enough, there were rows and rows of the stuff! On the packaging in big white letters were the words "HARDWARE CLOTH". I was going to go back to all 4 of them and "show them up", but I was in a hurry so I only "educated" one person

It is also called rabbit wire here. lol for some reason people dont care to look at packages or to educate themselves on what they are selling.... seems its not only in the ig world that this happens its everywhere.
