Looking for a big branch.... does anyone know where its found???

alieliza Apr 23, 2004 12:29 PM

I am looking for a branch big enough for a 5-6 ft. long argentine boa to climb on and curl on.
Does any one know of any websites or anything where I could get my hands on something large? thanks

Walmart has some big bamboo sticks in the fabric section...I use them for my ball python, my amazon tree boas, my garter snake, and my green anaconda...they have ranges in size and color and they make a tank look pretty cool too.

Wow, thats a great idea... very innovative and practical! I wonder if all walmarts have them??? I will definitely look there. There arent branches though, so are they best for climbing?

I don't know what you mean...you can cut them the same length or width of the cage and lodge them in at any height in different directions and make any kind of intersections..or into the corners for some more virticle climbing...they come in all differentr sizes and I have them in all of my cages...even snakes that are not known for being arborial use them all the time.

this is the middle of my green anaconda cage..but see the big baboo stick running horizontal all the way across the tank...that is just lodged in there with pressure and it is six feet long and has no support holding it upo but it holds my green with no trouble.
