Are four horned chameleons harder to keep than veilds?

I keep Quads, Veileds, Jacksons, and Mellers. If you can keep up the humidity (100%-I use a ultrasonic humidifier), Quads are very easy. If you are careful, you can actually keep pairs together-I have had success with that about 80% of the time. I currently have two pairs living together going on 3.5 years. They are easy to breed but the eggs are hard to incubate (keeping them in the lower 70's is hard). Quad males are touchy about being in each other's view so I keep the cages close by but use frosted plexiglass to disrupt the view. The one problem about quads is very difficult to find captive bred, so IF you buy wildcaught, definitely take them to a vet to screen/treat for parasites. I hope this helps. Good luck

I'm not sure I agree that quads are as easy as veileds. First of all, NO cham is "easy." I'd also strongly urge you not to house a pair together. A long term keeper might be able to spot the signs of stress early but a novice could not. And just FYI: I have no experience with quads but I know enough about them to know they're quite delicate (as are all chams). I don't mean to flame the guy who's had them for over 3 years. That's an acomplishment. But there's also an element of luck!

The other thing that I want to emphasize (and which was mentioned earlier) is that it's easy to get a CB veiled but difficult to get a CB quad. Any CB is a risky prospect and I would strongly advise any novice to avoid a WC cham.
