soooooo...i got my new crestie today from anthony caponetto...GREAT looking partial pinstripe harlequin...so stoked...so the little guy wandered around for a couple hours and tired himself out so he found himself a lil napping spot...i was looking at him (Hobbes) resting and his eyes are open...so does that mean he isn't asleep or do they sleep with their eyes open? just wondering...

Hey Alex,

Rhacodactylus don't have eyelids. They do, however, have the ability to pull their eye further into the orbit (eye socket). As babies, you won't notice it as much, but as they get larger (particularly specimens with wide heads) you will start to notice them doing that when they're asleep.

Crested geckos lack eyelids, which gives them the appearance of always staring at you. But when they are sleeping you will notice their pupil is a very tight slit, and their crest will droop slightly over the eyes.
