cricket nutrition, all input wanted...

sebastian021 Apr 23, 2004 05:17 PM

Ive heard contradicting info, so i figure ill ask everyone, what is more nutrious, medium sized crickets, i.e.- not having their last molt, meaning no wings; or full grown crickets with wings? I would think that medium sized would be a little more nutrious, seeing as they dont have as hard a exoskeleton, but on the other hand, i see the large crickets having just way more body mass that looks like nutrious meat. so what gives? reason im asking is for which i should give my 5 month old female veiled. thanx in advance.

I like to alternate 1/2" & 3/4" crix just to have a little variety and prevent boredom even though I supplement with several other species of prey. But to answer your question, I don't think it really matters as long as they're gut loaded with a premium gut load (as opposed to nthe usual crap they sell in most stores).
