Fired Up

stevie16 Apr 23, 2004 10:33 PM

I had a quick question about male to male encounters. I have about a year and a half old male sambava and about the same age Nose Be. They are almost exactly the same size. I had my sambava on a tree and I brought my Nose up so they could see eachother and only the Nose fired up and puffed out his chin. My sambava stayed the same color and just sat there looking at the other guy. The sambava has always been super mellow and the Nose is mean as hell. So my question is why didn't my sambava brighten his color or puff out his chin?(get fired up)

There's no firm answer to this question. It might have o do with the fact that the Samabava was not in his own territory. That, combined with his mellow personality could account for it. Try showing him a miorror while he's in his own cage. See if that gets him going.
