If you are reading this, you probably know me & the flagellate problem we had, just about all winter. Well I had typed out a LONG explanation & our discovery as to the cause the other day & I stepped away from the computer and my 11yr old decided he was going to play his computer game and closed the kingsnake window before I had completely finished and posted it. I could have screamed. lol
Anyway,,, my babies are clean!!!!!!! so I can show my face again. lol I tell you, this winter has been so frustrating I can't even begin to tell you what was going through my head. I dang near gave up and got out of the reptiles all together. It was one of those " that will never happen to me " things.
Through it all (now I don't want to hear any "I told you so's"
I have gotten off the anti-cricket wagon. I now, personally believe they "may possibly" need them and their (hopefully) small parasite loads to keep their systems up to par so they can fight them off, when exposed to them, and or what ever natural balance they play a roll in. I do think that if given a good diet which has a steady supply of veggies, pellets, & worms (supers and or mealies) that the crickets can be given occasionally and do not have to be given all the time. Maybe more like a treat & possibly an immunity booster. ???
Anyway,, I'll go into the flagellate story another time,, it's getting late.
Later.
