A very interesting egg.

Markus Jayne Apr 24, 2004 09:13 AM

Yesterday I came home to a clutch of eggs and when I removed the female I discovered something I had never seen before. Two of the eggs were joined to form one very odd shaped egg.

The right side is fertile but the left side is not. I can't tell if there is a wall separating them. I hope there is because the egg on the left is sure to start decomposing soon.

You never know what you'll discover!

yes....just 2 eggs with non-complete shells......it sux...and you will lose both if you lose one probably......

I had corns do it.....she laid actually three......one year 2 good hatched and third died full term almost..........next year she had a double and a triple.? i forget...but I remember that the triple died due to the one on an end being a real dud......they all rotted quickly........

you can try some form of string turnoquet surgery if you think one side is dead ........

worth a shot after it starts to go anyways.........

..............good luck......post pics then too........

...the good egg will "wall-off" the bad egg and not adversely affect the embryo, but other times the embryo has trouble closing the umbilicus due to adhesions and problems result. Good luck with this one Markus!
