crazy beardie

toyko71 Apr 24, 2004 01:59 PM

my bearded dragon during the day goes crazy and claws at all side of the glass alot. is this normal? why is he doing it? i always just hold him when he does it cause it makes me worry that hes trying to eat someting or run away from something he thinks will hurt him. theres nothing on the out side of the cage that looks like someting he would want to eat though.

he already ate like 10 minutes ago, theres mealwroms in his mealworm feeder, hthe temps are 105.6 in his basking area and 80 in the other end and its a 36' by 18' cage and he is just constantly scratching at the glass and its annoying me cause i dont know why.

Maybe give him more stuff to climb on and crawl around to keep him entertained.Everything else sounds good.

hes about 15 inches and getting bigger but still the size of a large juvenile

he may be reacting to his reflection or other visual stimuli. try putting newspaper over the glass and see if that helps. If it does you can put a poster or something else that looks pretty.
