big anacondas

throatoyster Apr 24, 2004 02:15 PM

I just want to say that I have a lot of respect for anyone who keeps such large snakes. My biggest snake is a Columbian Red Tail... and that's about all I could imagine taking on as far as size But I have to say... I think anacondas are great looking snakes, but I've never seen anyone post a picture of a large pet anaconda... only the few that you always see where it's a bunch of tribes people carrying one in the jungle or something... so I'd love to see everyone's pics of their big snakes!!! (especially the greens!!!)
thanks!

Rich Isle (sp)? I'm sorry rich or rick. I have shown your pic to more people than you can imagine.

He had a pic that I would love to see posted again with his LARGE green around his neck. This forum goes so fast its already a couple pages back. Please post it again.

Lots of people in here went the cb route so most the anacondas in here are not gigantic. dfr posted some awesome pics too with some boas that were as big as large anacondas (not like the 20 footers but huge snakes). Here is a pic I took of luis didannos (sp) green..this is the biggest one I think any of us have seen. if you saw the big squeeze on animal planet..this is the guy who was killed by his retic and then revived...he owns the largest snakes in the world. The tribes you are talking about are the Yanamamo (or fierce people)and the Kayapo Indians...I bet Renee doesn't even come across anacondas this big.

If you look through the forum archives, you'll see plenty of great pictures, especially by DFR, Mr. ANACONDA, and Kelly, and others, too.

This is a female we had just caught...ironically it looks like I'm all alone, right? Behind the camera man of this shot were another, oh, 12- 15 photographers (tourists) all clicking away with enormous lenses. She was an instant star, though not as happy about it as we were.

Renee, I have seen that pic all over the net...very very impressive...but I have never seen any photograph as big as this snake...over 22 ft and over 350 lbs! her head is bigger than your head...I don't think any anaconda exists that is as big as her

` Here are some pix I've collected. None of them are mine, though.

` I like this one the most. Kelly Haller posted it awhile ago. As I remember, it's of his partner's wife, and daughter. They're holding a big, stout male. Just a great picture.

`
` Here's another posted by Kelly.
`

`
` This one was posted, on this forum, by Jorge Horna. As I recall, he said it 's a wild caught animal. Notice though, he's not controlling the head. It must be pretty mellow.
`

`
` This one was posted recently by Rich Ihle. Another really great picture!
`

`
` Some old fat guy, with a big Yellow.

` This last one, I can't remember collecting. If anyone recognizes it, let me know.

Marion wasn't too small, either, for a wild snake, just wish I had a better photo of her (repost below)
