Anyone ever seen this on a GTP...

snakeroom.net Apr 24, 2004 02:31 PM

Hi,
I'm unfamliar w/ GTP locales, etc. I rec'd this animal in trade. I have had him for a while, and was taking photos today and noticed and irregular "blue spot" . I have never seen it there before. It seems out of proportion to the light blue dorsal stripe down that runs the length of his body. The scales in the spot are darker in color.
I'll also post a pic of a closeup.
Please let me know what you think..
Thanks
Cori N.

My first gtp had two of these blue spots, unfortunately they were at injection sites of Baytril antibiotics. Do you know the history of your snake?

It's probably an old scar. Skin damaging wounds tend to turn white, pink, black, yellow, or deep blue such as the one on your snake. It's not a big deal really......especially when they're blue like that. The only problem is, sometimes the blue will turn black over time. Nice looking snake regardless.

Ive seen simular marks before...not on a gtp but on my vinesnakes. In my case I discovered the blue markings where burn marks. It had somehow touched the heat source and slightly burned itself. It healed dark blue instead of green.
