What morphs are their parents? NP

lizzylizard Apr 24, 2004 05:14 PM

I have the names of the little hypos parents (the top one), unfortunately the breeders site is down so I can't check them out yet. I don't know about the other two.

I am not really one to ask, I am fairly new to leps. Just wondering if the parents are an albino and blizzard because I am getting an albino and blizzard soon and had heard that they were unable to produce offspring, don't know what validity the statement has but i heard it somewhere.

ericchen Apr 25, 2004 02:02 AM

hmm..ive never heard of that...but i wouldn't see why they would be inable to produce offspring...same gecko..just different colors...Eublapharis Macularis..O.o...i would believe they would produce offspring just as readily as any other morph...dunno...don't think its true though

They are soooooooooooooooooo cute!!!!! Your so lucky!!!

I've got a question......regarding your signature actually... Is the pacman frog the type that eats mice? You have quite a variety of pets there..........very cool!!!

It a long story with that little guy (one more reason to say I don't like pet stores). I was looking for a tree frog, when I fell in love iwth hoe "cute" he was. The pet store told me he was pretty much the exact same as a tree frog, LOL.

That night I read a few sites that said they HAVE to eat mice and that they often grow to be the size of a dinner plate (sound like a little green tree frog, nope). After some more reaserch I found out that yes they can eat mice but (thank God) they don't have to. I say "thank God" because I love mice, I could never feed them to another pet.

However, besides the fact that he tries to take off my fingers, he has stayed fairly small (even though I feed him alot) and he has stayed faily cute. Here is a picture of him, he is an albino. If you look at some pacmans in the picture gallery you can see what they look like when they are full grown, to me the look pretty scarry.

Thats cool. I had seen them at Petsmart one time...but i was apalled cause they were in little cups, like betta cups with some water and gravel....it looked to small. The next time i went down they were in their own individual tanks with some decor. I'm not into feeding mice.....but i'd love to have an aquatic terrarium of some sort. Don't have the space for one right now hehehe, but maybe one day

Thanks for the info, i'm going to go check out the pics of them

just FYI the pac-man frogs can eat mice. But it can lead to the blindness and death of the frog. The mice are so high in fat that lipids build up around the eyes which blinds the frogs, and when the frogs are blind they cant find food so they die.

Actually you can feed them mice. But only once every 2 weeks just for a snack. They can only lead to blindness if they are full grown mice and you feed you pacman adult mice alot. Id go with pinkies or the next stage up.

pinkies contain a higher percentage of fat than adults. One every two weeks sounds like a lot of mice considering that most adult pac man frogs only eat 2-3 times a week.

no. IT would lead to the obesity of my frog. I want a healthy frog, not a fat one.

I just thought it was neat that a frog eats mice at all. I saw a pinkie being fed to one. It just seens weird to me since i used to catch frogs all the time and never once thought that they could eat mammals.

I would like a water terrarium without having to feed any mammals to whatever might be in it LOL. They are an interesting looking frog though.

Thanks for the info

yeah, whenever you see a frog eat a mouse it is cool. Did you see the pic of the whites tree frog chomping on a fuzzy in the april (i think) issue of reptiles?

No i didn't see that. I don't usually pick up that magazine. Been trying to look for a Canadian based one but no luck.

Ya it is cool when i see a frog eat a mouse. Its something i never thought they would eat....see i learn something new everyday hehe. Actually when i was young i LOVED toads. We could find them everywhere and i liked them better than frogs. I kinda miss those going down to the creek to catch creatures days. hehehe.

I've been spending the last while feeding my geckos.....i picked up more crickets and watched the aft's go nuts. Also i fed my new leo them and she actually came right out of hiding and would look up at the open top waiting for me to drop another one in. It was cool.
