Just wondering about black bulb

smith710 Apr 24, 2004 07:08 PM

Hi, I was just wondering if you can put a black bulb in a leopard geckos cage for night time. Will it effect anything for them? I think you can but i'm just making sure just in case.
Thank You

Is the main reason you want a black light bulb so that you can see your gecko at night? Well if it is then buy ( i forget the actual name of it ) one of those red bulbs. It is ment for night time and it produces not alot of heat but that is ok if you have an under tank heater. But the main point for the bulb is so that you can observe your gecko.

nothings wrong with it. read my above post. Blacklights are very good for nightime viewing and heating.

from what I've heard long term exposure to blacklights can cause eye problems.
