heat emitters

iggyluver Apr 24, 2004 10:54 PM

I recently got a Zoo Med ceramic heat emitter and was not satisfied with the results. It only heated the surrounding air and didn't push the heat out. I replaced a 60 watt night bulb and it didnt heat the ambient temp as much even though it was 100 watts. I was just wondering if any one else had experienced this proplem and what they did to fix it.

Thankz, mark

Hi Mark,

I noticed the same problem with the ZooMed night bulbs. My solution was to get a second night light & fixture. The first lamp is above his sleeping area, and the second is now at the side. So he's got heat from both the vertical & horizontal planes. The temp now stays a nice toasty 75-80 in his sleeping spot.
