Source for pasture/prarie mix seed?

boostaddict Apr 24, 2004 11:17 PM

I finally have my own house and things are starting to grow outside. Its time to move the torts outside for the spring/summer/fall. I'm working on an enclosure right now. Years ago I bought a ~5lb bag of mixed grasses/weeds online that was highly recommended by fellow tort owners. I think it was a basic prarie and/or pasture mix that contained some clovers, grasses, and other such things. Does anyone have a recommended source for this? I'm not looking for a $50 bag of weed seed, but something reasonable. The local shops don't have a clue. Thanks,
Wayne and his 3 t. ibera

For a reputable source I'd suggest the Turtle Cafaaaaa.
The link is at the top of the page.

I do agree with you, Ed--Kim's seed mixes are great; however, I just got an email from her indicating that she is closing the cafe from May 1 to July 15. Sounds like she's in overload mode and needs some time to catch up.

I just ordered some stuff from her, so I'm glad I didn't procrastinate, for once.

I got another email saying that Kim has re-arranged her work schedule and will not be closing the cafe, except for a couple weeks in June. Whew! I need to order some more seeds from her. I'd definitely recommend the cafe; her blends are great!

Hi
Do she has a phone number to call?

Thanks
Dragonchuck

I've always ordered from her online, at www.turtlecafe.com. I'm sure there's a phone # on the website, though. The announcement about being closed from May 1-July 15 is still up, but I assume she'll be taking that down.

Well, I guess I'll also place an order with the cafe and see which one I get first

boostaddict May 17, 2004 11:39 AM

Has anyone ever ordered from www.turtlestuff.com and actually receieved an email response, or product? I placed an order for their basic seed mix over 3 weeks ago, and no response from email inquiry and no product. I realize they say orders might take up to a couple weeks (since they test all seed), but at least after 2-3 weeks they should answer the question "did you receive my order and when do you expect it might ship"...
