Leo Eye Problem HELP!

uropat Apr 25, 2004 01:03 AM

Last night I discovered that one of my juvenile leos had something wrong with his eyes. One of them was completely sealed shut and the other one had a white film over it (like a cataract). It was the same in the morning. I left the leo alone most of the day so it wouldnt be more stressed, but when I checked on it tonight, the eye with the white film over it had progressed to a small pink watery balloon, almost looked like the eye was filled with water and had nothing else there. I know I shouldnt touch it and I WILL BE SEEING A VET . I just want to get an idea of what I am looking at before I go.
ALSO
if anione here from Arizona has been to a herp vet, what are your recommendations? I have found a few but theres only so much you can learn about a person from what they say.

HI

Good thing you are going to the vet.. It sounds like a very bad eye infection and if not treated right away, it could lead to blindness. Leopard Geckos can also get a parasitic infection in there eye's as well.
