Is this true about panther incubation temperature?

herpfinatics Apr 25, 2004 07:16 AM

The reason I'm posting is because I heard it was possible to incubate the eggs at a certain temperature and make the entire clutch females. I know this is possible with some species of reptiles, but it seems weird that this would work for chameleons. She will probably be ready to lay her eggs in about a week.
Email me at jasonking@2by2.net or post. Thanks All.

I don't think so. While incubation temps can determine the sex of some lizards, I've never heard that it can be done with chams.

There is no evidence of temperature-dependent sex determination (TDSD) in panthers. Just a word of caution..... they require fairly low incubation temps. See the Furcifer pardalis profile at www.adcham.com
